Making Dolls at a Children's Hospital
Expressing thoughts and feelings

Karen Miller has recently been contracted by a local children's hospital to work with teenage patients as part of a healing arts program. Karen helps the young people to discover how their thoughts and feelings can be identified and reflected in a doll figure, using words and a variety of materials and embellishments. In addition to being a fun diversion in a hospital environment, this activity also offers the teens a chance to experience the joy of "giving back" to people who have helped them.

Please c ontact us if you can think of other ways to offer dollmaking as a fun and healing activity to people of all ages.
